‘Travellers’ Follies’ (TF)
Puppet Show
Audience: family puppet show set to the passion of Tango music.
Story: A Highland hotel double books a travelling magician and a world-touring diva to entertain the guests. As they try to out-perform each other, a clumsy porter seems set on ruining their acts. The three large and lively characters become involved in a murder mystery. Their relationships gather speed towards a strange, but happy ending.
Available Dates: March 2010 continuing throughout 2011
Theme: Suitcases, Tango, Comedy, Cabaret, Highland scenery, Parody murder mystery
Set: An array of suitcases, from which puppets appear. Suitcases also reveal Highland Scenes (hills, deer, distillery, waterfall),
Puppets: Large rod puppets; some glove-puppets; textiles
Running Time: 46 to 50 minutes Maximum audience: up to 150 Get in: 2 hours Get out: 1 ½ hours
Playing area: Minimum Width = 18 feet (prefer 21 feet)
Minimum Depth = 15 feet (5.5) Height = 7 feet. Stage requires steps/ access to audience. Blackout: not essential Lighting: Two lanterns on each side to cover general playing area (12 feet wide by 6 feet depth; and from floor to 6 feet high). Some spotlight events (lighting directions provided). If no venue technician is available, Zenwing supply lighting.
Soundscape: Licensed Tango music; Trad Highland music and live singing
Insurance: Equity / Your Insurance for workshops
Marketing: we can supply flyers, posters and an initial 100 postcards; images and information for press releases, plus website entries.
Performance Fee: Usually £350-£500 usually to include travel depending on location (ask us!)

Ticket guide price: The majority of venues who book us, charge around £5 to £8 per ticket, per person. Theatres may charge more.
Optional extra: workshop Glove-Puppet-Making workshop for up to 20 people. Individual pre-prepared inner gloves are decorated to create special travellers. Mini-performances based on travel-inspired stories. Participants keep their glove puppet. We use photo-permission forms. All under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult responsible for their welfare. Price of workshop = £200, includes materials and prepared inner glove linings, for approximately 20 people. Workshop lasts one-and-a-half hours to 2 hours.
